Bob Beaver

LEAD PASTOR

In November of 2021, we called Bob Beaver to our church as lead pastor. Pastor Bob has been married to his beautiful wife Cheryl since May 1980. His claim to fame is his three incredible kids who are all serving the Lord in various capacities. He has five grandkids and found out the truth of the statement, “If I would have known how much I loved my grandkids, I would have had them first!”

Pastor Bob has been the lead pastor of a number of different churches scattered throughout the country. He earned a Masters of Theology degree from Dallas Theological Seminary in 1992 and a Doctorate of Ministry degree from Talbot School of Theology in 2012. He loves first responders and their families and is a volunteer chaplain for Loudoun County in Virginia. He enjoys reading, working out, and quiet evenings spent watching family movies with his bride.

History of the Church

Believers Bible Church (BBC) was founded over 30 years ago as an Independent Baptist Church under the caring leadership of Pastor Terry Overstreet. The name of the church at that time was Believers Baptist Church. The primary ministry of BBC was Leesburg Christian School (LCS). LCS was run as a ministry to provide a Christian education to K-12 grade children from diverse economic backgrounds. Pastor Overstreet had to retire a number of years ago due to health concerns and the family moved away.
Pastor Ryan Vanderwerker then assumed the Senior Pastor leadership role at BBC. BBC adopted a leadership team that included the Senior Pastor, a plurality of Elders, Deacons, and an advisory group of laymen from the congregation. The leadership team made the difficult decision to end the LCS ministry. Pastor Vanderwerker and Evangelist Tony Pangle supported our Church through this difficult period.

Mr. Pangle provided much needed leadership to the church as the new work was begun. Under his capable preaching and leadership, the church stabilized and a small group of committed folks emerged!

The church extended a call to Pastor Bob Beaver and he came to assume leadership in November 2021. The name of the church was changed to Believers Bible Church by a vote of the church family in February 2022 due to having a new vision, a new pastor, and a new church that was no longer tied to LCS. It is our hope and prayer that the best days of BBC are still ahead of us!
